Jaisalmer Fort

Jaisalmer Fort, also known as the Golden Forte, is located in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Built-in 1156
AD by the Rajput Rawal Jaisal (ruler), it is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan. There is
something very special about this fort. This fort’s massive yellow sandstone walls show a tawny
lion color in the daytime. It gradually fades to a honey-gold color after the sun sets in the
evening. It camouflages the entire fort in a yellow-colored desert. Due to this, it is also called
Sonar Quila or Golden Fort. It is a must-go place while you are in Jaisalmer.

Timings – Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Rishabhdev Jain Temple

The Rishabhdev Temple is one of three renowned Jain temples situated on the banks of Mool Sagar. It is believed to be dedicated to Rishabha Dev Ji, the 1st Jain Tirthankara. Its inspiring carvings and impressive corridors make it a popular tourist attraction. In addition to the spiritual atmosphere, its natural & pristine environment doubles its beauty.

Timings – Morning: 5:30 – 11:30 am, Evening: 5:30 – 8:30 pm

Longewala War Museum

The Longewala War Museum Jaisalmer in the military station was established in honor of the soldiers who fought in the Battle of Longewala in 1971. The honor wall displays the names of Param Vir Chakra & Maha Vir Chakra award winners. In addition to tanks, guns, and military vehicles, the museum displays vintage equipment and trophies, making this place a famous attraction in Jaisalmer.

Tanot Mata Temple

Tanot Mata Temple is one of the major attractions and a heritage site for tourists visiting Rajasthan’s Thar Desert. It is 120 km Northwest of Jaisalmer city and located in the Tanot village of the district. This sacred temple is devoted to Goddess Hinglaj Mata and shows a perfect blend of religion & miracles. It is close to the intense Indo-Pak War battle site, held between 1965 and 1971 in Longewala. Often the jawans near this temple share some incredible stories with the visitors. Also, the Indian Border Security Forces have maintained this site since the Indo-Pak war in 1971.

Gadsisar Sagar Lake

Once the only water source in Jaisalmer, the Gadsisar Sagar Lake is a man-made water reservoir. Despite being on the outskirts of Jaisalmer, it is situated nearby the Jaisalmer Fort and one of the most preferred spots to watch the sunrise. So while you are in Jaisalmer and would like to spend some quiet time or have fun with family & friends, various activities await you at Gadsisar Lake.
